The deputy mayor for public services in Palma, Aurora Jhardi, has met with representatives of the Restaurants Association and of bars, restaurants and cafes and said that the town hall is “open to dialogue” in working together on any possible amendment of the bylaw regarding the use of public areas for terraces

The president of the association, Alfonso Robledo, accompanied by owners from the Playa de Palma, Portixol, Santa Catalina and Blanquerna areas, has outlined concerns and wishes of restaurants in these areas.

One thing that they would like to alter is the seasonal tax on terraces and so are asking for a dual rate, one for summer and a lower one for winter.
