And during last month alone, the Balearics handled 925,463 passengers while Majorca handled a total of two million low-cost passengers during the first seven months of the year and 592,194 last month.
The Balearics handled 3.78 million scheduled airline passengers, a fall of 2.1 per cent in comparison to the first seven months of last year.
10% increase
At a national level, low-cost airlines accounted for slightly under 50% of all passengers passing through Spain’s airports during the first seven months of this year: an increase of close on 10% to over 20 million in all. In July, this percentage rose to over 50% (4.3 million passengers).
