ALDI arrived in Majorca yesterday with the opening of its first six stores on the island.
These new supermarkets are in the localities of Palmanova, Magalluf, Inca, Marratxí and Palma.
ALDI arrives in Majorca at a time when the company is expanding fast in Spain, where it currently has more than 250 stores and 1,900 employees on its workforce.
The six stores opened yesterday, which will generate their own electricity from solar panels, together make up a total of more than 7,000 square metres of retail space and 664 parking spaces.
These new openings will create 140 new jobs, setting out to hire people from the different localities.
At these supermarkets customers can find a wide range of products in the food, household, cleaning and special buy categories. More than 1,400 articles including everything customers need in their everyday life: fresh, packaged, regional and organic food, all with a firm commitment to quality.
And thanks to an extensive selection of own-brand products that are already a success in many European countries, lots of people will now be able to find to top quality at the best prices.
With all these new stores, ALDI continues to make progress in Spain and plans to open more supermarkets in the next few years.
