The Balearics are set to be the favourite destination for Spanish holiday makers in July and August this year, according to reports from renowned Travel Agency Association ACAVe.
The Canary Islands and Andalusia followed in the list of preferences. Also high on the list of preferred destinations are the cities of Barcelona, Madrid, San Sebastian and Bilbao, which year after year continue to attract large numbers of both national and international visitors. ACAVe also said that after five negative years due to the economic recession, domestic tourism numbers took a turn for the better last year, a pattern that should continue this year.
A recent pole carried out by the association showed that bookings for this summer are set to increase between five and seven percent compared with last year.
