Hotels in Playa de Palma are getting ready for what is set to be one of the most profitable years of business in recent years.Hotel chains and private investors have invested considerable quantities of money to renovate and improve the infrastructures of their hotels, meaning they can now charge up to 15 percent more for their services.
That increase looks likely to increase the profitability of the hotels by seven percent.
Hotels in Playa de Palma have and still are going through major renovation works to change the face of local tourism and the area has officially opened for the high season with the highest ever number of four star hotels.
In 2011 there were 18 of the kind, now there are 35, while the first five star hotel in the area the Garonda is set to open next month.
“There is clear evidence that local hoteliers have full trust and belief that Playa de Palma is the right place to invest in the short, medium and long term,” Alvaro Gijon, manager of Playa de Palma’s Redevelopment Consortium said yesterday.
“And this of course has a direct impact on several things: better commercialisation, business profitability and better tourism image for the area.”
One of the best examples of this investment policy is the Riu Bravo hotel.
