Majorca will be the main destination for international and national tourists during the Easter holiday period, leading Tui Travel group revealed yesterday.
Palma.—Hotel bookings on the island have gone up by 27 percent compared with the same period last year, making the region the most sought after destination for the upcoming holidays, ahead of Barcelona, Tenerife, Madrid and Benidorm. Leading the booking surge are British nationals, who year after year continue to show their preference for the Balearics to spend their holidays.
Spanish market
A spokesperson for TUI Travel, revealed the group’s satisfaction with the latest figures saying that “even though Easter week is coming 15 days earlier than last year, bookings are still up by 10 percent”.
Germany looks set to be the second leading market followed by national tourists, an encouraging sign for the future according to Tui Travel.
“The number of Spanish nationals heading to Majorca next week has risen by 15 percent, which shows consumer confidence is on the rise again.”
