Close friends of Carol Bramley, who has lived in Majorca for years, were heartbroken yesterday by the news that her 28-year-old son Paul was on board the Germanwings plane which crashed on Tuesday.
Palma.—Paul Andrew Bramley who was originally from Hull, where his father Philip still lives, was studying hospitality and hotel management in Switzerland and due to start an internship next week.
His mother Carol, who lives in Via Cabrera, in Santa Ponsa, said: “Paul was a kind, caring and loving son. He was the best son, he was my world.”
The Foreign Office issued a statement on behalf of Bramley’s family. It said: “Paul had just finished his first year at the college and had taken a few days holiday with friends in Barcelona, before flying back to the UK via Dusseldorf to meet his family.”
Close friends of Carol here in Majorca were shocked by the news.
Carol, who had recently suffered from breast cancer and was helped by the Cancer Support Group which works across the Balearics, subsequently became a member of the group her self once back to full fitness.
“She is a wonderful person. She is extremely dedicated to the cause and she has done a lot of good work. I can’t believe what has happened, it’s tragic, terrible,” one close friend who works in the group with Carol told the Bulletin yesterday.
