The Balearic economy continues to drive the country’s economy forward and yesterday, new data revealed the recession could be finally over, with the region leading in terms of growth in both service sector sales and the creation of new jobs.
2014 was a turning point for the local economy, with sales in the service sector growing by five percent, almost double the national average of 2.7 percent.
No other region in Spain fared as well, with only the Canary Islands approaching Balearic figures with a growth of 4.5 percent.
Taking into consideration only December’s sales figures, numbers rose by 7.4 percent in the Balearics, also the biggest increase in the country.
