Investigating Judge Jose Castro, who is leading the corruption investigation into Caso Noós in which, among others, the Duke of Palma, Iñaki Urdangarin and his wife, Princess Cristina of Spain, have been called to stand trial in Palma later this year, has announced that he wants to continue for another five years in order to conclude his investigations into Palma Arena corruption case. The probe into the allegedly corrupt construction of Palma’s velodrome during the legislature of the PP President of the Balearics, Jaume Matas, who is currently in jail, is focused on the alleged misappropriation of some 50 million euros of public funds and Castro, who will celebrate his 70th birthday on 20 December, wants another five years to wrap up the case, one of the biggest corruption investigations in the history of the Balearics.
