Ticket prices for air and maritime travel should be slashed, the Balearic Minister for Development Ana Pastor said yesterday.Fuel prices have fallen progressively over the last few months and with the price of a crude now at a new record low for the last six years of 45 dollars, Pastor feels it is only “fair and necessary” that airline and nautical transport authorities ensure prices for their services are also reduced.
“We will speak with directors from both sectors so we can come to an agreement, but it’s important that the public benefits from this decline in prices in the near future, as it has not happened for a while.”
“With crude prices at record low levels, prices should reflect the country’s current economical situation,” Pastor added.
