Marian Porter, whose world famous dressage and equestrian centre in Majorca has become home to a group of gypsies,  told the Bulletin yesterday that she is “desperate” to get her home back.A little over 18 months ago, Marian’s husband, Michael, suddenly died at La Paz ranch they bought  in s’Aranjassa in 2006.
“I was devastated, the whole family was, and I decided to give the business a break and return to England for a while to console my daughter and elderly mother and also try to come to terms with things myself,” she said yesterday. “But, I still had staff maintaining the ranch in my absence but it was not enough to stop a group of gypsies from breaking into the property and they are still there,” she said.
“It actually happened in August, on the day I had decided to return to Majorca and pick up the pieces and get the business running again. We had invested hundreds of thousands  in developing one of the very best dressage and equestrian centres inSpain. We used to hold regular international competitions and also ran a livery, looking after other people’s horses and with a mortgage of 3,000 euros a month to pay, I had to get working again. What is more, it is my home, it’s all I’ve got. But, since August, I’ve been having to live with my daughter in Milton Keynes while  my lawyers and I wait for the court in Palma to look at our case.”
