Palma.—All the high schools in Inca have prohibited students from using their mobile phones in class.
The Berenguer d ‘Anoia and Pau Casesnoves institutes went further and will not even allow pupils to bring the phones into the class rooms.
This extreme measure started to take effect at the beginning of this school year after parents, teachers and police forces showed their concern with not only the amount of time teenagers were spending on the phone, but also some of the activities they used them for.
A local police poll revealed that four in every 10 teenagers in the area had at some point received “indecent” photographs on their mobile device from close friends, often either naked or wearing only underwear.
