The second phase of a campaign to promote the region’s quality food products is being launched for Xmas.

Palma.—The Ministry for Agriculture, yesterday announced that this second phase is going to be aimed at local residents and holiday makers alike. The Illes Balears, Taste Aquality or the TasteIBQuality campaign, is designed to promote the region’s gastronomy and kicking off this new series of events is going to a be a tasting session on 11 December in Inca.

That will be followed on 17 December in Sineu, 23 December in Olivar market and 27 December in Santa Catalina market in Palma. Six special tasting events have already been held this year and, according to Ministry sources yesterday, over 4,000 people attended the tastings held between June and September and, approximately 70 percent, were holiday makers.

What is more, many of those attending the tastings, especially visitors, expressed a great deal of interests in purchasing some of the food and drink products being promoted.
