“Take advantage and help” is the slogan for this year’s Es Refugi Christmas boost fair which opens today and runs until Saturday evening.
Palma.—The hugely popular annual festive market will be held in the Misericordia in front of the General Hospital and the market will be open from 10.30am to 8pm.
The bulk of the money raised will go towards helping the Es Refugi charity provide food and a roof over the heads of the socially marginalised at the two drop in food and social centres the charity operates in the Camp Redo neighbourhood of Palma.
However, this year, for the first time ever, part of the funds raised will go to help families facing a financial crisis, especially those facing eviction so they can pay the rent and save their homes.
The festive market provides an ideal opportunity to help those in need while picking up some Christmas presents.
A vast range of items are going to be on sale from books to antiques, art, clothes for adults and children, jewellry and this year, there will be a boutique selling top brand clothing items and foot wear.
