London.—Spain has climbed three positions in a corruption ranking table revealed this week by Transparency International Organisation, which every year publishes a report comprising 175 countries, based on the level of corruption in the public sector.
Every country is marked on a scale from 0 to 100, 0 being “highly corrupt” and 100 “highly clean”.
Spain was marked with 60 points and is now ranked 37 in the world, jumping from 40 in 2013, when the country was marked with 59 points.
Despite the recent climb, it’s still far from their best ranking ever.
Over the last two decades, Spain has fallen almost 20 positions.
In 2002 and 2000 the country was amongst the world’s top twenty, with a 71 mark, their best every score.
