Palma.—It was beginning to look alot like Christmas in Palma last night as the city council officially turned on the Christmas lights. The Mayor of Palma, Mateo Isern, oversaw the ceremony from the balcony of the town hall and at a touch of a button city streets were brought to life with a colour display of Christmas illuminations. The city council have put together a whole series of events to give the capital a festive feel.
The Christmas market in Las Ramblas is now open for business and on 13 December the Scandinavian community will be holding their annual Santa Lucia celebrations in the Plaza Cort from 5p.m. Also starting from 13 December there will be a performance of the Christmas Carol in English at the Teatro Municipal in Palma, next to the Bulletin offices. There will also be other smaller fairs along with all the nativity scenes which will soon be opening to the public. Of course all these events lead up to the annual parade through the streets of Palma by the Three Kings on 5 January .
Festive season arrives in Palma in style with plenty of events
