Christmas is on the horizon and not everyone is thinking about presents, lots of people are also thinking about grabbing  a festive part time job.

alma.—The Adecco employment agency yesterday forecast that the festive season will lead to a 15 percent increase in part time employment with an estimated 520 jobs being created in the region.
And, nationwide, 110,000 seasonal jobs are expected to be up for grabs, some ten percent more than last year which, according to Adecco, are figures very close to before the recession hit.

Retail sector
According to the employment agency, some stores have already begun taking on Christmas staff and most of the seasonal jobs are going to be in the retail and  hostelry  sectors and the majority of jobs will also run through until the end of the January sales.
What is more, Adecco calculated that if the seasonal  part time positions translated into full time jobs, the national rate of employment would be reduced by 4.2 percent from the current rate of 23.7 percent to 19.5 percent.
