Palma.—Muro’s famous pumpkin contest, now in its eight edition, was won this weekend by Miquel Cloquell in the foreign category and by Joan Capo in the local category.
Cloquell, not a stranger to winning this contest, won with two giant pumpkins, weighting 266 kilos each, one of them standing out for being white, an unusual characteristic for a pumpkin. He took home a cash prize worth one euro for every kilo.
In the local category- less spectacular in both weight and appearance- Capo’s 67 kilogram pumpkin took first prize. His monetary prize was valued at two euros per kilogram.
