Almost two thirds of Palma residents have suffered water supply shortages last year due to the poor state of the pipes supplying the city.According to the municipal water board Emaya, over 600 metres of water pipelines were broken last year and this is not the first year during which so many pipes burst. Engineers from the company explained yesterday such is the state of the water pipes supplying the city of Palma, that it would take over 100 million euros to solve the problem.
Emaya explained that some residents might have not experienced shortages in their area due to the existence of local water reserves, but near by streets might not have been so lucky.
