Majorcan Chamber of Commerce heads to Brussels

Palma.—This Thursday, the European parliament in Brussels will be holding its third “European Parliament of Businesses”, and the Majorcan Chamber of Commerce will be forming part of a 54-strong Spanish delegation which wishes to air its concerns over EUlegislation which they, and other Chambers of Commerce from across the union, claim are hampering their business potential and growth.
In short, they are going to push for an easing  of red tape and more EU incentives to help businesses combat the on going economic uncertainly within the union  and  climb out of the recession.
The Spanish companies will be part of a total of 741 businesses from 28 countries.
The President of the Majorcan Chamber of Commerce, Jose Luis Roses and his Secretary General, Antoni Grimalt, will be leading the local delegation and prior to Thursday’s parliamentary session, they will be holding talks with a number of MEPs to discuss common factors which are affecting the European business community’s ability to be more competitive against emerging markets in countries such as India and the Far East.  Roses explained yesterday that 90 percent of global economic growth is currently happening outside of the European Union and what they want the European Union to do is open up more and easier trading routes with the United States, India, China and the Far East.
