Palma.—The two members of Calvia Local Police force who arrested and jailed along with the chief of the force last Monday, were released yesterday.
The three were arrested for having allegedly accepted bribes and extorted businesses, in particular bars and clubs, in Magalluf.
However, yesterday the two policeman appeared before a Palma judge who later ruled that they be released on probation while the investigation in to the claims continues. The Chief of Police, Jose Antonio Navarro Muñez, however, remains on remand in Palma prison.
He has since been replaced by Jose Luis Rubiales “until the case is resolved,” according to Calvia Council.
