Palma.—It is not only back to school for the children, it’s also back to Parliament for MPs and after a nice long summer break, it will be a frosty resuming of Parliament tomorrow.
Top of the agenda is oil and gas prospecting in Balearic waters and the Minister for the Environment, Biel Company, has been called to explain to MP’s what exactly is the government’s position and what it intends to do to stop prospecting from going ahead. The two main opposition parties, the Socialists and the eco-nationalist party Mes, said yesterday that they honestly do not expect to hear anything new, but they want the chance to put the Minister on the spot - especially as prospecting was carried out in Balearic waters last summer and the government said nothing about it at all.
