The 30th edition of the Regatta Conde de Barcelona starts today in Alcudia.The most ancient nautical competition in the Mediterranean runs from today until 24 August and 28 crews from eight different countries have already confirmed their participation.
Today will be the opening ceremony, followed by three days of competition.
Organisers confirmed yesterday there are a few changes to the itinerary this year to make the event more exciting.
“We changed the itinerary a bit, it wont be as it has been in the past. There will be six courses in total and boats and crews will have to maneuver considerably more,” Andreu Guasch, technical director of the event said. “This year’s competition will be more dynamic and easier to follow for those watching from the bay,” Jonatan Syrett, the President of the Real Foundation of Classic Yachts Hispania added.
