Balearic ports handled almost 600,000 cruise passengers during the first six months of this year, according to a report published by Balearic Port Authority yesterday.
Palma.—Figures represent and increase of 5.1 percent compared with the same period last year, despite “only” 256 cruise ships making port in local waters, a 4.12 percent decline in relation to 2013.
Throughout Spain, authorities confirmed that the number of cruise visitors went up by 3.7 percent, meaning a total of 3, 24 million visitors.
The number of vessels making port in the country has nonetheless declined.
A total of 1,627 cruise ships put into Spanish ports, 45 less than a year ago.
Barcelona, the country’s reference as the busiest cruise port, also suffered a decline in figures.
