Three quarters of the Manacor to Arta green path has already been completed and the entire project should be fully open to the public by September.

Palma.—Yesterday, the President of the Balearics, Jose Ramon Bauza and the Minister for the Environment, Biel Company, went on a site  visit to the area to see for themselves how work is progressing.
The eco-path follows the route of what was going to be the new Manacor to Arta railway which was scrapped  because of a lack of  funds.

However, Bauza said that the environmental route which has been especially designed for hikers and cyclists, has already been recognised and included in the national network of eco-paths and should help to boost off season tourism in the area.
The new green path will stretch for nearly 29 kilometres from Manacor to Arta and pass through Sant Llorenç and Son Servera and, Bauza maintains, will appeal to both residents and tourists.
