The Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel Borrego, yesterday presented the new tourism promotion campaign which this year has a budget much smaller than last year, 7,000 euros in total.
Borrego said that one of the reasons that the budget has been slimmed in because airport authority AENA and railway operator Renfe have made advertising space available for free.
However, the promotional campaign has not impressed everyone with the tourist industry complaining that the government needs to value the sector more considering the revenue it generates every year and the number of jobs it creates.
