Earlier this month the Bulletin reported that once the dreadful weather in the UK began to calm, there would be a rush on holidays and it has happened.

Palma.—The long, wet Winter has sent many British households round the bend – and apparently to their travel agent.
Tour operators and travel agents have reported a surge in the number of holiday bookings since the start of the year.
Holiday bookings are on the up as people try to escape the dreary weather The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) says that trade is up by 10 percent  year on year for Summer sales, even after strong bookings at the beginning of last year during the cold snap.
Bookings are also up over Easter, it said, with the Canaries being the top choice, followed by the Balearics, Malta, Tunisia and Egypt.
