The investigation into the business activities of the husband of Princess Cristina is reaching a critical period with the prosecution under orders to decide on whether to press charges or not.
Palma.—Investigating Judge Jose Castro yesterday gave the prosecution ten days to decide on whether to charge Iñaki Urdangarin, the Duke of Palma, with money laundering.
Urdangarin is alleged to have defrauded regional governments of millions of euros of public money.
If charged and found guilty, he and his business partner in the Noos Foundation which staged a series of sporting events for the regional governments of the Balearics and Valencia, could face maximum jail sentences of 17 years each.
Urdangarin is accused of organising the events at hugely inflated prices.
