Palma’s sea front windmills are finally cleaned up

Palma.—Work began yesterday morning on finally clearing out the abandoned Es Jonquet windmills which over look the Port of Palma.
The clean up operation, ordered by Palma City Council and being carried out by the municipal refuse and water board Emaya, is expected to last at least a week.
Once completed, structural engineers will then begin examining the conditions of the windmills.
The  operation is expected to cost around 22,000 euros but Palma City Councillor for Urban Development, Jesus Valls, has made it clear that the costs will eventually be passed on to the owners of the wind mills who have repeatedly ignored demands from the council to  clean up their properties.
