At least 30 people in Majorca are living in caves due to financial difficulties, according to social services’ reports published yesterday.
Palma.—If that was not enough there are another 15 living in shacks or pre fabricated houses and three more living in tents or caravans.
The effects of the recession seem to have no end and have been highlighted by the fact most citizens in this situation are registered for housing benefit with their local council.
They receive around 500 euros per month each although in some cases the value could be slightly higher.
But still they struggle to find a home.
