Palma.—It was another miserable day for British satellite viewers in Majorca yesterday as some people, mostly in the north and north east of the island, had trouble receiving the ITVchannels.
As we reported in yesterday´s Bulletin, ITVhas now moved to a new satellite and the strength of the signal is weaker leaving some expatriates in the dark.
This already happened with the BBCchannels last week which caused deep concern across the island.
But it appears that if you live in Calvia, Soller, Palma and Andraitx you will continue to receive ITVand BBCas normal but it is other areas of the island which are causing concern. Satellite television companies told the Bulletin yesterday that the problem could be resolved either by a bigger dish or switching to a different regional channel where the signal was stronger. But there was little sympathy from the BBC yesterday. A BBCspokesperson was quoted as saying that we were never supposed to be able to watch the corporation’s domestic service, since it is only supposed to be available to licence payers in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
Fresh blow for Sat. TV viewers in Majorca
