Today is the day hundreds of expatriates in the Balearics have been nervously waiting for because the new satellite which broadcasts British TV to the region comes on line.
Palma.—Sean Connolly of Ocean Satellites, has been monitoring developments for months, ever since the new satellite was first launched and has been inundated with questions about how stronger or weaker the signals are going to be once the change over has taken place.
Sean admitted yesterday that it is still very much a case of “wait and see.”
As he has said all along, the signal strength could go either way although some areas of the Balearics, such as the north east of Majorca and Minorca do face the possibility of partially losing the signal.
