Palma.—Members of the National Police, Palma’s Local Police force, the Guardia Civil and a member of the Spanish royal protection squad met yesterday to discuss the security operation which is to be mounted on Saturday, 8 February when Princess Cristina appears in court in Palma.
The princess, the King of Spain’s youngest daughter, is to be questioned by Palma judge Jose Castro about alleged tax fraud and money laundering through a company she had with her husband, Iñaki Urdangarin, whose nonprofit foundation obtained public contracts from regional governments, such as the Balearic government, to stage sports and tourism events but the judge suspects that some of those funds were diverted for private use.
