Palma.—Government plans to install wind turbines in the Tramuntana mountain range were yesterday criticised by environmental organisation Amics de la Terra (Friends of the Earth).
The non governmental agency is adamant the plan is incompatible with the declaration of the area as a World Heritage site.
Similar plans to Es Amunts in Ibiza and La Mola in Formentera have also been singled out.
The group is now urging the government to act fast, give precise details of what their plans are and how long it will take to complete them, asking the authorities to speed up the process to minimise the damage in the area.
