Palma.—Only a day after reports confirmed that Majorca was the third most popular destination for foreign visitors in Spain in 2013, another report published yesterday by the Tourism Institute showed the region has much to thank to “low cost” airlines.
Last year 7.47 million passengers used “low cost” airlines to travel to and from Balearic airports.
According to the study commissioned on behalf of the Tourism and Trade Ministry, that means 8.4 percent more than the previous year.
