Palma.— THIEVES have stolen a village Christmas tree planted in memory of a boy who died in a Majorcan drowning accident.
People living in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire, were shocked to discover someone had cut through the trunk of the 8ft tree in the night and carted it away.
The village has had a Christmas tree at the spot for 11 years in memory of Jak Taylor, who drowned in August 2002 while playing in the swimming pool of a hotel on the island.
