THE Balearics currently lays claim to the third most expensive property up for sale in Spain, housing market watchdog “facilisimo.com” said yesterday.
The country home, situated in the municipality of Pollensa, comprises 1'200 square metres of constructed property, with seven en suite bedrooms, a further seven individual bathrooms, a laundry and a separate apartment for domestic staff.

If the building itself is spectacular, the land surrounding it is no less panoramic. It embraces 120'000 square metres of olive groves and holm-oak woods, all sweeping down to the Mediterranean. It is up for sale for a mere 12 million euros.

Meanwhile, in its survey elsewhere in the country, facilisimo.com has revealed in its latest report that the priciest home up for sale in the country at the moment is in Madrid at a cost of 13 million euros. It is situated in the highly desirable residential area of La Moraleja and within its 3'000 square metres of constructed property, there are nine double bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and various lounges and dining rooms. It is built on a plot of 10'000 square metres, which is on the highest ground in the area, providing some breathtaking views.

Spain's second most expensive home on the market is in Marbella in the exclusive resort of Los Monteros where people looking for a home with a difference can buy a Thai-style villa for a cool 12.9 million euros. The 979 square metres of constructed property has six bedrooms and as many bathrooms, along with a complete gymnasium and spa.

The kitchen has been built in true Italian style and leads into a king-size lounge.
