MORE than 380'000 internet surfers claim Palma is Spain's finest sun, sea and sand holiday destination, said hotel price watchdog www.trivago.es yesterday.
The figures emerged as part of a survey made by the watchdog into on-line beach holiday destinations around Europe. The watchdog established a top ranking list of the 50 most sought-after locations this year. According to www.trivago.es, Spain is the most popular country with 16 destinations on this list. Even though Palma was the most popular in the country, it still only ranked 10th out of the 50 with 77.21 percent, beaten by destinations such as Belek on the Turkish Riviera and Binz on the German coast of the Baltic Sea.
At the other extreme of the research emerged s'Arenal, least valued by internet surfers with only 65.10 percent. Even though it is so close to Palma, it was the least valued Spanish destination said the watchdog. Also at the bottom of the list were Benidorm, Sant Antoni (Ibiza) and Lloret de Mar.
