THE publisher of the Daily Bulletin and Chairman of the Grup Serra media organisation, Pere A. Serra and the Chairman of the tour firm Sidetours and leading art collector, Bernat Quetglas, were yesterday honoured by the Bulgarian government for helping to globally promote modern art and spread Bulgarian culture.
The two leading Majorcan businessmen were presented with the Honour of the Golden Age by the Bulgarian Minister for Culture, Vezhdi Rashidov and the Bulgarian Ambassador to Spain, Ivan Christov during a special ceremony inside the Balearic Parliament building.
The presentation was presided over by the Speaker of the Balearic Parliament, Maria Antonia Munar, and attended by representatives from all of the local institutions including the President of the Balearics, Francesc Antich, President of the Council of Majorca, Francina Armengol, the central Government Delegate to the Balearics, Ramon Socias as well as a host of local captains of industry and personalities from the worlds of art and literature.
Tributes were paid to both Serra and Quetglas by Munar, the Bulgarian Minister for Culture and the Ambassador for the great work they have achieved in promoting art and culture and strengthening cultural relations between Majorca, Spain and countries like Bulgaria.
