Palma.—According to reports published this week by commercial association Pimeco, sixty percent of small businesses confirmed their sales went up considerably last month compared to October, thirty percent revealed their sales were very similar, while the remaining saw takings rise.
In between municipalities there was little difference in figures.
Around 56% of businesses in Palma confirmed their commercial activity went up last month, while in other different areas of Majorca that figure was around the 50% mark.
The study confirmed the "positive character of November."
Benefiting from "the unusual warm weather experienced in October," this month businesses experienced a "boom in Winter product sales, in particular clothing."
In terms of annual figures 54% of traders reported that revenue up until November was higher than at the same period of last year.
Some 30% feel they are exactly in the same situation, while 16% reported losses.
