STAFF REPORTER
SOME 20 experts on rabies coming from countries bordering the Mediterranean will be meeting in Palma tomorrow and Saturday to try and find solutions to the increasing spread of the disease.

According to statistics, nearly 10 million people receive treatment against rabies each year and some 40'000 die from it in the same time period, the majority of them in developing countries. The Balearic Viral Disease Research Group (CRVIB) has organised the conference as part of a European drive to bring down the incidence of rabies in North Africa where hundreds of people die from it every year.
