A British woman has been arrested by Local Police officers in Calvia, after allegedly stabbing her millionaire boyfriend during a domestic violence incident at their luxury chalet in Palmanova yesterday. The man, who is Scottish, is in hospital, where his condition was reported to be serious. The couple, who have not been named, lived in a chalet in Punta Negra, Palmanova, with her two children.
According to reports, the relationship was a rocky one, despite appearances.
It is reported that the woman, aged 32, dialled 061 shortly after 1am yesterday, and allegedly confessed to having stabbed her 39-year-old boyfriend, who was badly injured. An ambulance rushed to the scene, followed by a Local Police patrol.
She allegedly told the police that her boyfriend had returned bome at around midnight, drunk and in a bad temper. She claimed he started to insult her and they started to quarrel, the man becoming increasingly more aggressive. During the quarrel he allegedly went to the kitchen and grabbed a kitchen knife, and tried to attack her. The woman, described as strong, fought him off and managed to grab the knife from him, stabbing him in the side. When the police arrrived, officers found bloodstains in various parts of the house. Paramedics treated the man for his injuries and the police confiscated the knife as evidence. Officers remained in the house for several hours, investigating the case.
The Guardia Civil took over the investigation yesterday afternoon, when the suspect was transferred from the Local Police cells to the Guardia Civil headquarters. The victim underwent emergency surgery at Son Dureta hospital, where it was said that his condition was not life-threatening but was still very serious. The woman's two children were in the house at the time, but it has not been revealed how old they are and if they actually witnessed the incident or if they were asleep at the time.
