REGISTRY offices have officially listed on computer that six same-sex weddings have taken place in the Balearics since the legal right for homosexuals and lesbians to marry was established in Spain on 1st July this year. Across the country, 148 weddings have been conducted, although authorities confirm that data remains incomplete due to the fact that some civic centres are not linked to a computer record system. Initial estimates point to the fact current files are showing only a third of the actual number of same-sex weddings that have taken place. Statistics reveal that Valencia is where most weddings in this category have taken place, followed by Madrid, Barcelona and Seville.
