ALL residents in Palma who are bank clients with La Caixa can now receive their registration certificates from the automatic cash points at any one of these banks, a quick and easy service which thousands will be pleased with. The agreement which set this in motion was made yesterday by the Mayor of Palma city council, Catalina Cirer and the Director of the Balearic La Caixa banks, Robert Leporace. This will mean less headaches for residents as they will not have to head to the town hall offices to sort out simple municipal paperwork.
Catalina Cirer said yesterday that Palma residents can ask for several pieces of paperwork from the banks, such as the registration certificates, the passport renewals, driving licence renewals, pensions and registration forms for schools.
La Caixa banks have a wide range of clients in Majorca, and this agreement will therefore affect 390'000 residents in Palma, who will no longer have to queue up in the town hall, she added. This new service is a step forward in the work that Palma city council is doing to make it easier to fill out municipal paperwork, confirmed Catalina Cirer yesterday. Furthermore the Mayor of Palma is confident that this system will be safe, effective and conform to the data protection acts.
In total there are between 370 and 380 La Caixa cashpoints on the islands, where residents can ask for their relevant paperwork. They will also be able to deal with these matters in any of the mainland based La Caixa banks.
