999 CALL FROM ENGLAND LED TO RESCUE OF SAILORS OFF MAJORCA

BRITISH sailor Jayesh Patel, who spent three days and nights drifting at sea in a life raft off Majorca last week, yesterday spoke of his ordeal.
43 -year-old Patel and his Belgian ship mate set sail from Palma for Tarragona on November 12 on board the 44-foot motor launch Umbalika.
But within just hours of setting sail, they were caught in last week's gales and high seas and struck by a huge wave.
Patel, back in the comfort of his own home in Croydon, said yesterday that they sank within a matter of minutes and had to put to sea in the small life raft.
