California.—A Spanish delegation that includedPrince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias and Jose Ramon Bauza, leader of the Balearic government arrived yesterday in California, to honour the work and life of Fray Junipero Serra,born in Petra, Majorca, in the 18th century and the founder of the Roman Catholicism missions in California.
On the occasion of the celebrations of the third century of his birth the delegation visited one of the most important missions where the Fray lived, worked and prayed and the one where he lost his life, the historic San Carlos Borromeo of Carmel mission in Monterey.
