Palma. The wall collapsed yesterday morning, according to municipal sources and Emergency Services, without causing injury to residents or passers-by.
The Council architect's office said that evicting the third home at the property was unnecessary because it was unoccupied.
A neighbour in Calle Joan Miró had apparently rung the Emergency Services on 112 at around 8.45am to report the collapse of a wall of a second floor flat.
A spokesman for the architect's office said that a section of the roof jutting out over the party wall of the property had also collapsed, causing tiles and debris to come tumbling down. As soon as the alarm had been raised by the neighbour, the appropriate Emergency Services went into action
Palma's Fire Services sent one of their engines to the site equipped with hydraulic ladders ready to evacuate any trapped residents, while National Police officers with a squad car raced to the scene.
Local Police were advised of the incident as were the Balearic government's Interior department.
