Heavy rain in some parts with more on its way

IN some parts of the Balearic Islands the heavens opened yesterday and brought buckets of rain to an otherwise dry autumn, whereas other areas escaped the rain and basked in relatively warm sunshine for most of the day. The rainfall was the result of an isolated depression in the south-east of Spain, which caused heavy rainfall, storms and strong winds in many regions, notably Catalonia, Valencia and Murcia. This is not the end of the weather blues, as the National Weather Station is predicting more rain tomorrow when a second cold front arrives in Spain. It is estimated that this cold front will remain in Spain until next Wednesday (16 November). The temperatures will generally be lower from tomorrow and in some parts of central Spain the cold will really be felt, although the islands will still be mild, reported the weather station yesterday. This second cold front will also bring snow to some parts of Spain. However the Balearic Islands will not be affected.
The heaviest snow will fall during tomorrow night and Sunday morning in areas between 800 and 1'000 metres high in Cantabria, Galicia, Castilla y León, Navarra and La Rioja, predicted the weather station yesterday. On Monday and Tuesday (14 and 15 November) rain and local heavy storms are expected to hit the Balearic Islands.
