NATIONAL Police in Palma said yesterday that they had arrested a 17-year-old boy at a school in central Palma for allegedly selling marijuana.
The police took the student by surprise, discovering him with a number of bags of marijuana in his rucksack, a set of finely-tuned scales and 200 euros in cash. The boy was arrested on charges of drug selling, taken to the local police station and then to his parents before attending a hearing at a Juvenile court.
There were apparently a number of contradictions in the statements given by the boy as to where he got the marijuana. He first said he grew it for his own consumpton but later admitted to selling it, although he denied selling it on the school premises.
