Balearic homes are the safest in Spain

THE number of domestic and recreational accidents in the Balearics is one of the lowest in Spain.
A report published by the National Consumer Institute reveals that the domestic and recessional accident rate in the region is just 3.9 percent, the same as in the Canary Islands, compared to 4.5 percent in regions such as La Rioja and the Basque Country. Last year, 1'754.335 domestic accidents occurred in Spain and the majority of the victims are female although, in the under 45 group, it is men who suffer the most domestic injuries but in the field of sporting and outdoor activities, as opposed to indoors.
